It was a hard process to choose what exactly I wanted to do for the final magazine.
I am subscribed to several magazines, and enjoy them all. They are pretty different from one another, but are all a pleasant read. Below you can find my top 3 magazines (not in a specific order)
-National Geographic
-Cahiers du Cinema
-Thrasher magazine
Each of the magazines reflects a side of me.
National Geographic taps into my wilder side, its articles full of adventures are always a glorious read, and those that explain new discoveries are extremely captivating.
The magazine is full of articles that explain everything from how planets are formed to new food trends among teenagers. The layout of the magazine is very developed, having double spreads that combine photo collages with the article, additional notes and small drawings.

Cahiers du Cinema on the other hand reflects my love for the cinema. With articles tackling all the new movies, accompanied by reviews to them, I learn everything there is to know about my next watch in the cinema. The magazines are pretty different one from another, having different layouts, and diverse covers.

Thrasher magazine is my go to read when I want to know anything new happening around my favorite hobby, skateboarding.
It’s full of articles interviewing pro skaters, adds for products and its tone doesn’t reflect a serious publication, it’s much more relaxed, making the read easier.
The magazine also takes photography very seriously, having entire pages dedicated to it.

Finally, let’s not get away from the purpose of this post, choosing the genre of my
magazine.
I’ll go with a skateboarding magazine, similar to Thrasher. Not a scientific publication, but a captivating read, reflecting one of my long lasting passions, skateboarding.
