In this post I will analyze and try to pick out a few conventions from Pashanim's Instagram page.
Pashanim

At a first look, this page has nothing to do with an official artist's page. The profile picture doesn't show Pashanim, the Bio reads 'Sports & Recreation' and the only two highlights available aren't named in any way. The only clue we get is the link to his shop and the username. He doesn't have an enormous number of followers, millions, like other rappers, this is maybe because he doesn't post so often. He also follows only around 400 other accounts, all being his close friends or other artists. There is a trend on Instagram to not follow any other accounts, maybe to boast your ego, thankfully it's not the case here.
His highlights don't show concert dates, release dates or anything related to his career. Instead they show photos, often random, some accompanied by texts, others all alone. Looking at all of them once, one can see the image Pashanim want's to be associated with.
A young man taking snippets of life on the streets, travelling to many cities, indulging in tasty meals and trying exotic beverages. Of course designer clothes and expensive sneakers aren't far away. He wants his highlights to resemble those of a normal person's Instagram, not those of a well known, business driven singer.
The Profile picture depicts an anime character holding a Palestine flag.
'Free Palestine' can be heard often at his concerts. He is an avid supporter of the movement.
The Posts are a combination of videos and photos, usually of himself on holiday, album releases or scenes from movies.

Even though he became famous over time, he still has a couple of posts before that. His oldest post is simply a photo of him with a water bottle in hand, dressed like a normal person, on a balcony. The simplicity of this photo reflects his humble image, and distances himself from other rappers that usually post only extremely expensive outfits couple with expensive cars.
He posts seldom, taking long breaks between the posts. This is done probably to make his fans eager for anything new.
For the media page I want to create I would like to follow some of Pashanim's conventions.
I won't tailor my page around that of mainstream artists, who usually have content only about upcoming concert dates and album releases. Instead, I want to have a highlight section were I dump a lot of photos from the city, not particularly related one to another, incorporate behind the scenes photos and videos from filming and posts about the sort of lifestyle Pashanim promotes.
For my profile picture I need to think of something very distinct, that reflects my project. Maybe a pair of sneakers, or a graffiti tag, or even a photo of the actors.
Although Pashanim tends to post quite rarely, it's not the case with my page. I need to reach as many viewers as I can so I will post quite often.
