I knew pretty much how I wanted my magazine to look, big photos, enough text to make an interesting read, and an overall simplistic design, simple enough not to distract the reader, and sophisticated enough to avoid looking boring. As I went on and did the ToC and the main spread, I constantly needed to remind myself of that and not get lost into details.

The Cover

The first Cover I did was a bit too simple, even though I liked it very much.

The bar code was actually a photo, and it looked a bit to yellowish, so I had to change it in the end.

The logo remained the same, I thought that the black fitted very good with the outfit of the snowboarder.

For the final magazine, I'll change the barcode and I'll add a tag line to link and explain to the readers why a skateboarding magazine is full of snowboarding photos.

Table of Contents

The table of contents spread looks already good. The only things I would change would be to make the number 2 on the bottom right more visible, maybe my having it on a white square, and to have an explanation for the photo in this spread as well, right over the one explaining the cover.

Article Spread

This is the article spread, here I'll make the most changes. First I'd add a quote in bold, to make the spread more full. Than I would also add some lines, or some elements of geometry to make the spread feel connected in a way. I'd also transform some of the photos, or make a collage to make the spread more eye catching.

I like the article title very much, I don't think it really needs to be changed.

Also the tagline that will be inserted on the cover will look similar to the article title, maybe even the same color and font.
